Join the ICLGG International Advisory Board or host future editions

Are you interested in hosting a future edition of ICLGG, or in serving on the ICLGG International Advisory Board?

The International Advisory Board (IAB) of the ICLGG is announcing two matters that will be addressed during the upcoming conference in May 2019. The ICLGG IAB will be taking proposals for the 10th and 11th editions of the conference, to be held in 2021 and 2023 respectively. In addition, the IAB is also inviting nominations of members of the scientific board to fill two positions that will become vacant in 2019.

1) Proposals to host the tenth ICLGG in 2021

The IAB seeks proposals from persons and institutions willing to host and organise the tenth ICLGG conference in 2021.

A decision as to where the next meeting should be held is made by the IAB at the conference and is announced at the close of proceedings.

The IAB would, in addition, welcome expressions of interest to host the 2023 meeting, but the decision for that venue will not be made until 2021.

2) Recommendations for membership of the IAB.

Two positions on the IAB will become available in 2019. The process adopted by the IAB is that people are recommended for membership prior to the meeting and during a business meeting at the conference (to be held at the conference on Wednesday, May 15th, at 16:30pm).

If you wish to nominate someone to join the IAB please send your nomination to thnoelellis@gmail.com. Please do not nominate someone without first discussing the matter with them; you may nominate yourself. Current IAB members whose membership is lapsing may also be re-nominated.

A list of potential IAB members and their nominators will be presented to the conference and a vote of delegates taken.  This vote informs the IAB in deciding who should be appointed to the board. This step has been introduced to take account of rules of the IAB such as representation of regions, legume species or scientific disciplines within the board.

For clarification:

IAB members serve for three successive conferences (usually six years).

A senior member of the Local Organising Scientific Committee automatically becomes an IAB member for a further two terms.

After an absence of one conference IAB members may be re-elected.

IAB members act pro bono.

Current IAB members are:
