Biography

Dr Jérôme Salse, Research Director, UMR 1095 Genetics, Diversity and Ecophysiology of Cereals (GDEC), Paleogenomics & Evolution Research Group (PaleoEvo), National Research Institute of Agronomy

Jérôme Salse  is a research scientist from the INRA (National Research Institute of Agronomy) Center in Clermont-Ferrand (France). He obtained an Engineer degree of Agriculture in 1996 at the Graduate School of Agriculture at Toulouse (France), received his PhD from the University of Perpignan (France) in 2002, and received his Habilitation to Direct Research Diploma (Hdr) in 2009 at the University Blaise-Pascal in Clermont-Ferrand.

His research field, Paleogenomics, is devoted to the study of the ancestral genome structure of modern species facilitating (i) the identification and characterization of molecular mechanisms that have shaped genomes/phenotypes during their evolution, (ii) the dissection of major agronomic traits in translational genomics studies extending from model species to crops.
